Design
The design of bellows includes:
• Design standards: EN 13445, EN 13480, EN 14917, PED 2014/68/EU, ASME VIII Div. I, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.1, AD 2000, or EJMA
• CAD drawings
• 3D modeling (INVENTOR)
• Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS)
• Technical consulting on optimal solutions for bellows design, application, placement within the piping system, and installation requirements
• Calculation software: EJMA/Sant’Ambrogio
Bellows Design Approval
In cases where the design calculation results based on EJMA standards do not validate the pressure integrity of a bellows construction, and the geometric complexity requires further project optimization, Giorgi Engineering Srl can verify the product’s integrity through advanced finite element analysis using ANSYS® software. Technical approval and analysis results, in accordance with the specified design standard, are provided with assessment reports as part of the technical documentation package. The software used by Giorgi Engineering is tested and validated through close collaboration with reputable institutions such as TÜV, BUREAU VERITAS, and LLOYD’S REGISTER, which also use this software worldwide.

Documentation
Over time, Giorgi Engineering has applied the same attention to detail and quality used in the finishing of its bellows to the associated documentation as well. Giorgi Engineering has introduced dedicated software that manages the traceability of individual materials for each project, integrating activities with our design software. This ensures the integrity of all materials used in the design of each order. The software allows for the creation of control reports used in internal quality tests and inspections. Reports can be provided together with the bellows production or sent separately. This allows the client to receive documentation quickly, avoiding delays before installation and minimizing plant downtime. Fast documentation handling enables the client to receive all necessary technical details during the quotation phase for proper evaluation of both standard and customized solutions, including project specifications, industry application, and design codes. Whatever the documentation requirements—from the simplest with just a few certificates to the most complex—Giorgi Engineering has the experience to ensure full compliance.
Bellows Documentation Reports:
Calculations: As a standard, we provide EJMA bellows calculations, including, if needed, the analysis of all components, including the bellows and its parts through various stress analysis methods (FEA), etc.
Welding Documentation: According to Series 15600 (PED), AD 2000, ASME IX, and welding qualifications such as EN/ISO 9606, EN/ISO 14732, AD 2000, ASME IX.
Additional Documentation on Request: We provide any other bellows documentation such as: inspection certificates, material certificates according to EN 10204 3.1, DoC – Declaration of Conformity, Certificate of Conformity, ITP – Inspection and Test Plan, measurement report, painting report incl. technical data sheets, etc.
Third-Party Authorities: We collaborate with many third parties such as Lloyd’s Register, RINA, Bureau Veritas, and many others.
Tests: Standard and on-request tests such as VT, PT, LP, RT, PMI.
